The Client

Our client is a 53-year-old British ex-pat who currently resides in Northern Spain. He recently established a property business in the region, having relocated in 2020. Meanwhile, his previous residential property in Brighton has been converted to a buy-to-let investment, generating passive income.

The client’s intention was to leverage equity from the Brighton property to finance the overseas development of his business. However, the rental income from the subject property, together with his pension portfolio, posed affordability concerns that many lenders hesitated to address.
