Our client, a director of an insurance tech business that has been operational since 2017, was faced with a unique challenge. While the company has been reliant on funding from investors and has yet to generate profits, it is expected to turn a profit in the current year. However, this presented a hurdle when trying to secure a loan for a property purchase, as the company’s financial records showed no profit, making it challenging to demonstrate the necessary income required for the loan.

The Solution

We successfully proceeded with a reputable high-street lender by leveraging the fact that the client's shareholding percentage was below 25%, which positioned them as an employee rather than a business owner. This strategic approach, coupled with our comprehensive understanding of lenders' criteria, enabled the case to progress based on the client's salary, without the need for the lender to assess the company's financials.
